I am Barbara Deer of My Deer Standard Poodles. I would like to give you some background information about My Deer Standard Poodles.

My love affair with Standard Poodles began in 1988 when Canadian Champion My Deer Beauregard became part of our family. Although Beau was bought for our sons David and Michael, I soon noticed that he was much more than just a "dog." After some professional evaluations we started handling classes and the "show bug" bit! Beau quickly earned his Canadian Championship. This love of dog showing lead to the addition of Tegan, Ch. Whisperwind My Deer Serenata TP, who was purchased from Linda Blackie's Whisperwind Kennel.

Tegan was the foundation for "My Deer". Tegan became a Top Producer with her first litter and finished her show career in the top 100 poodles for that year.

Currently, I am a member of the Greater Pittsburgh Poodle Club and the Poodle Club of Massachusetts. I attend AKC shows, with my husband Dave, regularly and show in breed conformation. I also attend breed handling classes with my poodles. Dave and I are presently working several of our older dogs in obedience. It is our goal to produce healthy dogs with sound temperaments.

My Deer Poodles have their genetic testing before they start their show careers. Only the healthiest and most conformationally correct puppies are shown and then used in our breeding program. We guarantee our puppies for health and temperament. All puppies not shown are sold on a spay/neuter contract.

We welcome prospective clients to visit our home and meet all of our poodles. Our commitment to the poodles we breed does not stop when the puppy leaves our home. We enjoy the extended family we have made through our wonderful poodles.
